Description
The Clerk Carrier is responsible for the receipt, sorting, processing, transportation, and delivery of U.S. Postal Service, FedEx, DHL, etc. mail and campus correspondence to residence halls and University departments. This position ensures timely and accurate mail distribution while providing excellent customer service to faculty, staff, students, and visitors.

- Receive, process, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail for university departments and residence halls.
- Prepare mail for delivery according to established postal and university procedures.
- Load, unload, and transport mail, parcels, and packages using designated delivery vehicles and equipment.
- Deliver and collect mail from campus locations along assigned routes in a timely and efficient manner.
- Verify mail addresses, names, and departmental information to ensure accurate delivery.
- Assist customers by answering questions regarding mail services, procedures, and delivery processes.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment while handling mail and packages.
- Adhere to all university, departmental, and postal regulations and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
- Ability to accurately identify and verify names, addresses, and account numbers with attention to detail.
- Ability to learn, understand, and follow mail distribution procedures and delivery routes.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum one (1) year of customer service experience.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and transporting mail and packages throughout the workday.
- Effective verbal communication and customer service skills.
- Computer literacy and ability to navigate the required software program required by the USPS
Supplemental Information
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid drivers license with a satisfactory driving record required.
- Must be willing to complete any and all federal, state, and local training requirements and certifications within 90-days of hire
