POSITION SUMMARY:
The Receptionist at River Street Schools and Programs serves as the first point of contact for students, families, staff, visitors, and community partners, creating a welcoming, professional, and customer-focused environment. This position is responsible for managing front office operations, directing communications, coordinating administrative support activities, and assisting with daily program logistics. The Receptionist plays a key role in ensuring efficient office operations, supporting student arrival and dismissal procedures, maintaining organizational communications, and providing exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties/Responsibilities
- Answer and route incoming telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner, provide information to callers, take and relay messages, and respond to inquiries or direct requests to appropriate staff members.
- Greet, screen, and assist visitors, families, vendors, and community partners, ensuring adherence to visitor management and security procedures while directing individuals to the appropriate location or personnel.
- Provide administrative and clerical support, including preparing correspondence, photocopying and scanning documents, processing mailings, distributing incoming and outgoing mail, maintaining office supplies, and updating program directories and phone lists.
- Coordinate and submit facility and room reservation requests for meetings, trainings, and program events, ensuring space availability and appropriate logistical arrangements.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3 months general office procedures experience preferred.
