The Cleaning Technician maintains a clean, compliant, and safe cleanroom facility and adjacent controlled spaces by performing routine cleaning, following strict procedures, and supporting a highly regulated environment. Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning of the cleanroom facility and adjacent controlled spaces according to established standards.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and all policies related to cleaning and appropriate behavior in a cleanroom environment.
  • Handle cleaning chemicals safely by identifying chemicals correctly, preparing solutions properly, labeling containers accurately, and storing materials according to requirements.
  • Maintain cleaning equipment, gowning materials, and supplies in designated storage areas and locker rooms to ensure readiness and organization.
  • Adhere to facility gowning requirements and demonstrate ongoing competence by successfully completing the annual gowning qualification.
  • Apply Good Documentation Practices (GDP) when recording data on controlled documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor, work assigned hours reliably, complete required training on time, and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Perform Environmental Monitoring (EM) of controlled spaces as needed to support a controlled and compliant environment.
  • Use email, Microsoft Teams, and training software on a daily basis to receive communication, complete training, and document activities.
  • Support additional tasks and projects related to the Cleaning Operations team as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to perform detailed cleaning tasks in a cleanroom and controlled environment while following strict procedures.
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) consistently and accurately.
  • Comfort and competence with gowning and garbing for a cleanroom environment, including frequent gowning throughout the shift.
  • Basic computer literacy, including confidence using email and other computer programs on a daily basis.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to Good Documentation Practices (GDP) when recording information.
  • Professional communication skills to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior aseptic cleaning or laboratory sanitation experience is preferred.
  • Prior experience following SOPs in a regulated or controlled environment is preferred.
  • Experience gowning up and working in cleanrooms is highly preferred.
  • Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with laboratory or cleanroom environments involving tissue, biology, cell culture, or cell biology is beneficial.
  • Interest in contributing to a growing organization in a start-up phase within a state-of-the-art facility.

Work Environment

The work environment is a team-oriented, diverse setting within a cleanroom and adjacent controlled spaces. The organization is in a growth phase and operates in a state-of-the-art facility, offering strong opportunities for professional development. Cleaning Technicians spend most of the day on their feet and frequently gown up to enter cleanrooms. The dress code is casual lab attire, including closed-toe shoes, socks covering the ankles, khaki pants or jeans without holes, and shirts without large graphics. The role operates on a second shift schedule, typically from 2:30 PM to 11:30 PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
