Job Description:
This is a GRANT funded 1-year position
As a Special Education Teacher, you will foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with diverse learning needs. Collaborating with colleagues and families, you will develop and implement individualized educational plans aligned with students unique abilities and goals. Your dedication will positively influence learners academic and social-emotional growth.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Provide direct instruction and support to students.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and staff.
- Assess students progress and adjust teaching strategies.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field
- Valid Connecticut teaching certification in Special Education (165 o r065)
- Experience working with students with intensive needs a plus
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and parents
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
