Job Description:
Special Education Teacher
Parish Hill Middle-High School (RSD#11) is seeking a dedicated student-centered Special Education teacher who demonstrates the skills necessary for building relationships with students while providing an optimal learning environment for students with special needs in grades 7-12. Parish Hill Middle-High School was founded in 1967 and is the regional middle-high school for students residing in the towns of Chaplin, Hampton, and Scotland, Connecticut.
Parish Hill is responsible for educating approximately 150 students, as well as students ages 18 - 22 in our transition program, "PHTOPS". Special Education caseloads at Parish Hill average between 10 and 15 students.
Candidates must have a strong understanding of student growth and developmental stages to effectively assess student needs and progress. The candidate will work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to differentiate instruction for students on their caseload.
