PART I - SUMMARY OF CLASSIFICATION

This class is accountable for developing, implementing and evaluating training for Junior ROTC programs for the District. The position is responsible for developing training schedules and materials, providing in-service and professional development training for JROTC instructors, coordinating and planning co-curricular activities, and performing related work as assigned. The position works independently, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.

PART II - MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

A. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

General Experience:

• Possession of a Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college.

Special Requirement:

• In addition to the checking of references and of facts stated in the application, a thorough background investigation of each candidate may be made prior to appointment.

B. CREDENTIALS:

C. LICENSURES, CERTIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Employment in this class is conditional upon possession of a valid Connecticut State Board of Education teaching certificate and 210 Non-Senior Military Instructors or 310 JROTC Advanced Instructor endorsement(s) appropriate to the teaching assignment.
• Incumbents in this class may be required to possess and retain a current Motor Vehicle operators license.
