Montessori Primary Teacher

CREC Montessori Magnet School seeks a highly committed and dedicated Montessori Primary teacher starting in the 2026-2027 school year. We are an AMI recognized school therefore the candidate should have an AMI Primarydiploma and possess or be eligible for a CT State teaching certificate. The successful candidate must have the ability to work collaboratively and be an effective communicator. Experience working in a public school setting is preferred.

Essential Montessori elements include:

• Mixed age grouping, which fosters independence, cooperation and discovery;
• Large blocks of uninterrupted time for self-directed work;
• An environment that allows for maximum freedom of movement and choice;
• An overall emphasis on intrinsic motivation rather than rewards or punishments;
• Specially prepared adults who are skilled at observation, preparing an environment, and interacting with children in positive, respectful ways.
