Job Description:
Kindergarten Classroom Teacher
Center Elementary School is seeking a 1.0 FTE kindergarten teacher beginning August 24, 2026. The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
- Knowledge of and experience with the developmental needs of students in kindergarten.
- The ability to successfully implement a comprehensive curriculum aligned with common core standards.
- The ability to foster positive rapport with students, staff, and families through effective communication of high expectations for all learners.
- Strong working knowledge and experience with providing differentiated instruction and effective student assessment methods.
- The willingness to work collaboratively with teammates to align instructional practices.
- Strong working knowledge of effective classroom management techniques with a focus on restorative practices, logical consequences, and/or responsive classroom.
- Strong working knowledge of educational technology.
- A valid 305 Connecticut Teaching Certificate or other appropriate Connecticut teaching certification
