    Job Description:

    Position Title: Teacher - TESOL/Bilingual

    Classification: 102, Certified CEA

    Reports To: Building Principal

    Effective Date: August 2026

    Duties/Responsibilities

    • Develop and administer curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
    • Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small-group instruction, and student learning.
    • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that support language acquisition, and translate lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and effectively uses time for instruction.
    • Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modify instructional methods to fit individual students needs, including students with special needs; conduct individual and small group instruction as needed.
    • Screen Home Language Surveys
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Teaching/Subject Assignment Specific:

    • Utilizes native language support in order to make the curriculum accessible to Multilingual Learners.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelors Degree (BA) from four-year college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
    • State of CT TESOL Certification (111) requirements with proficiency in Spanish or (009) CT Bilingual Certification.
