Job Description:
Position Title: Teacher - TESOL/Bilingual
Classification: 102, Certified CEA
Reports To: Building Principal
Effective Date: August 2026
Duties/Responsibilities
- Develop and administer curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
- Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small-group instruction, and student learning.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that support language acquisition, and translate lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and effectively uses time for instruction.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modify instructional methods to fit individual students needs, including students with special needs; conduct individual and small group instruction as needed.
- Screen Home Language Surveys
- Other duties as assigned.

- Utilizes native language support in order to make the curriculum accessible to Multilingual Learners.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree (BA) from four-year college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
- State of CT TESOL Certification (111) requirements with proficiency in Spanish or (009) CT Bilingual Certification.
