    Classroom Assistant- Kindergarten Aide

    Under the direct supervision of a certified staff member, to assist certified professional staff with students in the classroom to meet instructional goals and objectives, and to free certified professional employees from non-professional duties such as accompanying students to cafeteria for lunches, preparation for recess and other functions to enable them to make a contribution to other aspects of the educational program, such as curriculum development.

    Instructional Support

    Provides instructional and behavioral support, including but not limited to data collection if applicable, student-specific accommodations, and implementation of behavior support team/plan.

    Assists students with the necessary skills and work habits to become independent learners.

    Demonstrates ability to work with diverse learning styles by implementing accommodations for individual students.

    Demonstrates general knowledge of grade-level curriculum and materials.

    Facilitates peer interactions and supports students in social situations.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or at least 60 college credits preferred (or as required by state regulations).
    • Prior experience working with children in a school, childcare, or youth development setting preferred.
