The Baker/Cook will support the National School Breakfast Program (SBP), National School Lunch Program (NSLP), catered events, and the AFUHSD Food Service ProgramPerform all duties of food service worker/baker/cook/cashier in a competent and efficient mannerAttend additional training workshops as availablePrepare a wide variety of hot dishes for students and faculty with attractive presentations. Adjust recipes as requiredPrepare baked goodsMaintain an accurate inventoryAssist manager in all catering eventsKnowledge and understanding of the National School Lunch Program, standardized recipes, production sheets and maintain portion controlComply with all Governing Board Policies and Regulations, Maricopa County Health Codes, National School Lunch Program guidelines, and Agua Fria Union High School District Food Service PoliciesComply with School Safety Manual Rules and Regulations and OSHA requirementsMaintain confidentiality of information regarding students, staff, parents and school issuesProvide a welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, parents and communityPerform responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner Maintain punctual and regular attendancePerform other related duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREDTo perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have or be able to obtain within thirty days of employment start date a County Certification for food handler (renewed every 3 years)3. Must have and maintain a valid IVP Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card ExperienceMust possess excellent customer service skillsMust possess two years of experience assisting in a commercial cooking or baking operationMust have knowledge of cooking practices, methods, and food service equipmentMust be 21 years of age or older upon hire Communication Skills1. Must have the ability to read and write instructions, standardized recipes, and production sheets 2.
