Claims/Benefits Specialist - Remote/Hybrid

DPS is now hiring a Claims/Benefits Specialist for a Hospital Facility in Houston, TX. Dean's Professional Services has partnered with healthcare facilities, government organizations, and corporations to provide job opportunities.  

Job Details:

Schedule: 5-days a week | Day Shift 

Location: Remote or Hybrid (if local)

Starting Pay Rate: $29.00 / hour (Based on experience) 

Responsibilities:  

• Investigate and accurately process claim appeals in compliance with Texas state regulatory requirements.
• Process specialist adjustments, replacements, refunds, and appeals queues with 98% accuracy within 30 days of receipt.
• Process a minimum average of six claims per hour while meeting annual productivity requirements.
• Process group queues with 98% accuracy within 30 days of receipt.
• Review and process pended claims within five days of the initial review.
• Respond to internal inquiries within 48 hours by investigating issues and providing accurate, timely follow-up.
• Complete special projects accurately and efficiently within established deadlines.
• Participate in system testing and review processes for system upgrades and implementations.

Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent, required. 

Job Requirements: 

• 3+ years of claims processing experience required. (Bachelor's degree may substitute for the required experience).
• Knowledge of current ICD and CPT/HCPCS coding methodologies and claims processing guidelines.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Mathematical aptitude and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
