Job Description

Manage all day-to-day field operations for civil construction projects from mobilization through project completion. Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, equipment operators, and field personnel. Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure milestones and deadlines are achieved. Monitor project progress and proactively identify and resolve construction challenges. Ensure compliance with all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and site-specific safety requirements. Conduct daily site inspections and safety meetings. Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, Owners, and Inspectors to ensure project objectives are met. Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to ensure work is completed accurately. Monitor productivity, labor hours, materials, and equipment utilization. Maintain quality control standards and ensure workmanship meets project specifications. Prepare daily reports documenting project activities, progress, manpower, equipment, and site conditions. Manage project logistics, material deliveries, and site coordination. Assist with project cost control by minimizing delays, rework, and inefficiencies. Support project closeout activities, punch lists, and final inspections.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Civil Superintendent should have: Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent, Foreman, or Senior Field Supervisor on civil construction projects. Proven experience managing site development, roadway, earthwork, grading, utilities, drainage, infrastructure, and public works projects. Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and project scheduling. Thorough knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and industry best practices. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and construction specifications. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and managing project teams. Proficiency with construction management software and daily reporting tools. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites throughout New Jersey. OSHA 30 Certification preferred. Experience working on DOT, municipal, or public infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
