Civil/Structural Engineer

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Civil/Structural Engineer to support the design, analysis, and engineering of industrial structures and systems. This position will focus on structural steel and concrete projects and will work closely with customers, suppliers, construction teams, and other engineering disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will have strong structural engineering experience in industrial and power generation environments, with the ability to independently develop engineering solutions, prepare design packages, and apply applicable codes and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural engineering duties related to the design, analysis, and preparation of calculations, drawings, and specifications for concrete and steel projects.
- Design and modify industrial structures and systems for one or multiple assigned projects.
- Interface with customers, suppliers, and construction personnel throughout planning, design, and construction.
- Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria while exercising sound engineering judgment.
- Prepare conceptual and detailed design sketches, engineering calculations, construction drawings, and specifications.
- Coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines in the development of plans, elevations, and Basis of Design documents.
- Apply structural engineering principles, theories, standards, and concepts in the development of engineering design packages.
- Evaluate construction costs, government regulations, potential environmental hazards, and other project considerations during planning and risk analysis.
- Interpret and apply applicable building codes and industry-specific standards, including determining the applicability of local, state, and international codes.
- Specify structural materials, including concrete and steel, for project applications.
- Review supplier submittals, material documentation, and third-party laboratory test reports.
- Present technical information to peers and other personnel for review and implementation of engineering standards and procedures.
- Prepare Material Take Offs and cost estimates for materials, labor, and engineering to support project feasibility and planning.
- Participate in project coordination, technical reviews, and construction support activities as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 10 years of structural steel and concrete engineering experience.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification and actively working toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
- Experience with large-scale power generation and industrial projects.
- Proficiency with engineering and computer software, including:
- Microsoft Office
- AutoCAD
- 2D and/or 3D CAD
- Bluebeam
- RISA
- Navisworks
- STAAD
- SPMats
- Enercalc
- Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, design practices, and applicable building codes.
- Excellent verbal, written, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while effectively coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams.
- Must possess permanent authorization to work in the United States for any employer without the need for sponsorship, now or in the future.
