Position Overview
COMPANY is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician to support substation and overhead transmission infrastructure projects. This role will serve as a technical lead supporting civil site development, grading, drainage, roadway, utility, and related design activities for utility and power projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and modify civil engineering designs and technical drawings
- Create site plans, grading, drainage, erosion control, and utility layouts
- Utilize AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation to produce project deliverables
- Perform design calculations, quantity takeoffs, and documentation
- Ensure compliance with project standards, codes, and client requirements
- Review and coordinate design inputs across project teams
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to design staff
- Support quality, schedule, and production objectives
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Support field activities as needed
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Drafting, Engineering Design Technology, or related field
- 11+ years of relevant engineering design or drafting experience
- Advanced experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Bentley MicroStation
- Experience supporting utility, substation, transmission, or infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of grading, drainage, erosion control, and underground utilities
- Green Card required
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Design Technology or related field
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience
- Utility, power, substation, or transmission project experience
