Mainframe Solutions is recruiting an experienced Heavy Civil Project Manager for an established contractor supporting complex civil and infrastructure projects throughout the Houston market.This is an opportunity for a Project Manager who wants ownership of projects rather than simply tracking schedules and paperwork. You will lead projects from planning and mobilization through execution and closeout, working directly with field leadership, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and company leadership.Projects may include underground utilities, excavation, site development, drainage, concrete paving, structural foundations, stabilization, and other heavy civil scopes.If you understand how civil projects are actually built and can balance field execution with cost, schedule, client expectations, and team leadership, this opportunity offers the ability to make an immediate impact.Compensation ranges from $100,000 to $130,000, depending on experience and overall qualifications. What would you do as a Project ManagerAs a Heavy Civil Project Manager, you will take ownership of project performance from preconstruction through final completion.You will work closely with Superintendents and field teams to ensure labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and schedules remain aligned with project objectives. You will also maintain visibility into project costs, forecasts, change management, documentation, and client expectations.This role requires someone who can move comfortably between the office, jobsite, client conversations, and internal leadership discussions. Key ResponsibilitiesManage heavy civil construction projects from mobilization through closeoutOversee scopes involving underground utilities, excavation, drainage, concrete, paving, earthwork, and site developmentDevelop and maintain project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and cost controlsCoordinate with Superintendents, field crews, subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and clientsMonitor production, project costs, schedule performance, and overall profitabilityManage RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and project documentationIdentify project risks and resolve operational or technical challengesSupport subcontractor and vendor selection and coordinationMaintain strong communication with clients and internal leadershipEnsure projects meet safety, quality, contractual, and schedule requirements Qualifications5+ years of experience in heavy civil or infrastructure constructionPrevious Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager experience with increasing responsibilityStrong knowledge of civil plans, specifications, budgets, scheduling, and cost controlExperience managing subcontractors, vendors, and field operationsStrong leadership, communication, and problem solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced construction environment Preferred ExperienceUnderground utilitiesEarthwork and excavationDrainage and site developmentConcrete and pavingStructural foundationsHeavy civil infrastructureSelf perform constructionBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline Does this sound like you?You understand that successful project management happens in both the numbers and the field.You can look at a schedule, budget, set of plans, or production issue and understand how it affects the entire project.
