Salary Range:
$80,000 - $130,000 Full-Time Permanent Position with Benefits

A civil engineering firm in the Charleston, West Virginia area is recruiting an experienced Civil Project Manager / Water Resources Engineer.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate existing service area utility assets and develop strategic recommendations for repair, rehabilitation, or replacement.
  • Support detailed design for water line and sanitary sewer line rehabilitation/replacement, incorporating pump selection, valve sizing, and mechanical equipment layouts.
  • Coordinate environmental impact studies, regulatory permitting, alternative analyses, and specialized technical deliverables.
  • Support hands-on troubleshooting and performance evaluations of mechanical and fluid systems during active construction and final commissioning.
  • Monitor construction performance and strict adherence to engineering plans and specifications.
  • Efficiently process submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), formal project correspondence, and change orders.
  • Ensure clear, proactive project communication between internal team members, sub-consultants, and clients.
  • Deliver compelling formal presentations to clients, community stakeholders, the general public, and regulatory agencies.
  • Identify future project opportunities, attend networking events and industry conferences, and cultivate strong client relationships through high-quality project delivery.

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant civil/water resources engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred (or active eligibility to obtain PE licensure).
  • Strong background managing project deliverables, guiding junior team members, and delivering clear written/verbal presentations.
  • Willingness for periodic travel to local project sites and client meetings.
