    Civil Project Engineer

    enterprise providing comprehensive engineering and consulting services to clients throughout the

    eastern United States. R2T provides a wide range of services in civil and environmental engineering,

    environmental planning and permitting, operations, and project and construction management to various

    federal, state, and local agencies and municipalities. Our corporate philosophy is to help our clients

    We are looking for a Civil Project Engineer to join our growing engineering group as we expand our

    Alexandria, VA office. In this role, you will drive the completion of pipeline and storm water engineering

    design related tasks associated with all facets of water, wastewater, and storm water related projects

    including planning, design, and construction management.


    Specific responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Manage and execute the development of engineering solutions to address process and linear

    components associated with various aspects of water, wastewater, and stormwater facilities.

    • Prepare and review design plans including the preparation of engineering design drawings,

    technical specifications, and engineering reports.

    • Review shop drawings and respond to requests for information from contractor during

    construction.

    • Research and develop sound technical solutions to address unit process and yard piping

    components associated with water, wastewater, and storm water related facilities.

    • Conduct on-site inspection/investigation including survey and documentation of client/facility

    issues and solutions. Develops reports of investigative findings, repair drawings and specifications

    as required.

    • Manage multiple tasks; this includes establishing goals and objectives for project teams and

    monitoring schedules and budgets to ensure effective completion of work accordingly.

    • Schedule and coordinate project resources to prepare and deliver projects including detailed design

    drawings and specifications, technical reports, and planning documents.

    • Maintain project records and perform all other assigned duties.


    Minimum Requirements:

    • 2-5 years of experience in the engineering and consulting industry, with experience in the water,

    wastewater, and/or stormwater engineering field and progressive responsibilities including task

    management.

    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field of study and Engineer In Training

    (EIT) certification.

    • Proficiency in CAD based software is required. Civil 3D and Revit experience is preferred.

    • Design and/or planning experience through design and construction of municipal facilities.

    • Ability to perform duties with only general supervision with a capacity to exercise independent

    judgment and initiative.

    • Proficiency with site design functions: site layout, grading, utility design, stormwater management,

    erosion control, municipal & land-use regulatory approvals.

    • Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely with written and verbal communication.

    • Authorized to work in the United States.


    This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in-office work in Alexandria, VA. The selected

    candidate must be available to work in Alexandria on a scheduled basis.
