Job Overview:
Job Summary:**
Operate various civil and mechanical equipment safely and efficiently in a desert environment, supporting construction and maintenance activities without driving on public roads.
Job Responsibilities:**
* Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, compactors, trenchers, forklifts, and other machinery as required for civil and mechanical projects.
* Perform pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on equipment, including fluid levels, tire pressure, and minor adjustments.
* Adhere to all safety protocols, company policies, and environmental regulations while operating equipment.
* Grade, excavate, backfill, and compact materials according to project specifications and blueprints.
* Load and unload materials, supplies, and equipment safely and efficiently.
* Assist in the assembly, disassembly, and relocation of equipment on job sites.
* Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other personnel.
* Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment.
* Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards.
* Work collaboratively with construction crews to ensure project completion on schedule and within budget.
Job Qualifications:**
* Proven experience operating a variety of heavy civil and mechanical equipment (e.g., excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, compactors, forklifts).
* Strong understanding of equipment operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and survey markers.
* Experience working in a desert or harsh outdoor environment.
* Excellent hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and depth perception.
* Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all regulations.
* Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
* Relevant certifications or licenses for equipment operation are a plus.
