The Opportunity

A longstanding midsize Worcester law firm is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join its growing Civil Litigation practice.

The firm has served businesses, families and individuals throughout Central Massachusetts for more than a century and offers the breadth of a full-service practice with the hands-on responsibility and accessibility of a midsize platform.

This opportunity is best suited for a litigation-focused attorney who wants a broad civil docket, meaningful case ownership and direct exposure to experienced trial attorneys rather than a narrowly siloed practice.

About the Litigation Practice

The firm maintains a diverse civil litigation practice representing both individuals and businesses in state court proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, appeals and administrative matters.

The group handles a wide variety of disputes, including:

General liability and negligence matters
Personal injury defense
Construction disputes and construction defect claims
Contract disputes
Commercial and business litigation
Professional malpractice
Property-related disputes
Employment-related litigation
Shareholder and partnership disputes
Business dissolution litigation
Other complex civil matters

Because the practice is broad, associates gain exposure to a wider range of disputes than they might at a more narrowly focused insurance defense shop.

The team is particularly interested in attorneys with a strong foundation in civil litigation and general liability defense, but candidates with broader commercial or defense litigation experience will also be considered.

Why join us?

Billables & Work Structure

The firm expects attorneys to maintain a minimum of approximately 1,800 billable hours annually.

This position is based in the firm’s Worcester office and operates on a hybrid model, with attorneys ideally spending approximately three to four days per week in office.

Compensation

Base Salary: $130,000–$170,000, depending on experience, litigation background and overall fit.

The firm also offers a competitive bonus structure in addition to base compensation.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This role is particularly attractive for attorneys who want:

A respected Worcester platform with deep roots in Central Massachusetts
A broad civil litigation practice rather than a narrowly siloed docket
Direct partner access and meaningful case responsibility
Hands-on deposition, hearing and trial exposure
A manageable 1,800-hour minimum billable expectation
Hybrid flexibility
Opportunities at both the Associate and Senior Associate level
Long-term growth within an established midsize firm
Exposure to both business disputes and traditional general liability litigation

The firm is open to candidates across a fairly broad experience range and is primarily focused on finding strong litigators who can take ownership of matters and grow within the practice.
