We are working with a well-established, well-respected California defense firm founded in 1990. It has 30+ attorneys across multiple offices statewide and is adding a junior associate in its Long Beach office. Attorneys stay a long time here, and the firm offers a flexible work environment.

The opportunity

This role suits someone who can work independently but still values mentorship and wants to grow their practice. Pay is based on performance, not seniority. A standout third-year can out-earn a sixth-year here.

What we're looking for

• 1+ years of civil litigation defense experience (civil defense, product liability, premises liability, medical malpractice or a related field)
• Experience with written discovery and with taking and defending depositions
• Law and motion practice, court appearances, legal research and memos
• Excellent research and writing skills
• Admitted in California and in good standing
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
