We are seeking a seasoned Civil Litigation Attorney with a focus on Public Entity Defense to join our dynamic Legal team. This is a unique opportunity to work on high-profile cases, providing legal advice and representation to public entities, including school districts, municipalities, and government agencies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in handling complex litigation matters related to employment, labor, and municipal law, and a deep understanding of government liability.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive legal representation to public entities in all aspects of civil litigation, from the initial case evaluation to final resolution.
  • Defend public entities in lawsuits involving employment disputes, labor issues, and other municipal law matters.
  • Prepare and present cases in court, arbitration, and administrative hearings.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and agreements.
  • Conduct thorough and detailed legal research to support case strategies and advise clients.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure the highest level of client service.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to public entities.
  • Provide legal training and education to clients to help them understand their rights, obligations, and legal risks.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in the state and in good standing with the state bar.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil litigation, with a strong emphasis on public entity defense.
  • Demonstrated expertise in employment, labor, and municipal law.
  • Proven experience representing school districts, government agencies, and other public entities.
  • Excellent understanding of government liability and the legal challenges faced by public entities.
  • Exceptional legal research, writing, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of cases and work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity.
  • Commitment to public service and a passion for defending the rights and interests of public entities.
