Job Description
- Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for construction projects ranging from $1M to $100M+.
- Review plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and bid documents.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and develop pricing strategies.
- Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
- Collaborate with operations, project management, and executive leadership during bid development.
- Analyze project risks and identify value engineering opportunities.
- Prepare bid proposals, schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, job walks, and client presentations as needed.
- Track market trends, labor rates, material costs, and production factors.
- Support project handoff meetings upon successful award.

The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction, infrastructure, sitework, earthwork, utilities, roadway, paving, or related disciplines.
- Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and sequencing.
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience reviewing engineered drawings and specifications.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience:
- DOT, municipal, utility, roadway, site development, or infrastructure project estimating experience.
- Knowledge of HCSS HeavyBid, AGTEK, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or similar estimating tools.
- Experience with public sector bidding and procurement processes.
- Familiarity with self-perform construction operations.
