Job Description
Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for civil construction projects. Review project plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and bid documents. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations. Analyze labor, equipment, material, and subcontractor costs to develop competitive bids. Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client meetings as required. Collaborate with project managers, operations teams, and executive leadership throughout the bidding process. Identify project risks and opportunities while developing pricing strategies. Maintain and update estimating databases, historical cost information, and vendor relationships. Prepare bid proposals and submit estimates in accordance with project requirements and deadlines. Support contract negotiations and project handoff once awards are secured.

The Successful Applicant
A successful Civil Estimator should have:
- 3+ years of estimating experience within civil construction, heavy highway, site development, utilities, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of construction means and methods, project scheduling, and cost control.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and bid packages.
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of public and private sector bidding processes.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred but not required.
- Local knowledge of the New Jersey construction market is highly desirable.
