Position Overview
Amatriot & Dewberry are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager to support the Panama City, Florida office. This role manages municipal and land development engineering projects while providing leadership to project design teams and supporting business development, client management, permitting, civil design, and stakeholder coordination activities.
The Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager leads projects from planning through design and execution, oversees technical deliverables, coordinates internal and external stakeholders, and supports stormwater modeling, permitting, cost estimating, and public engagement activities.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management and Technical Leadership
- Lead and mentor project design teams throughout the design and execution of municipal and land development projects.
- Manage design teams in the development of detailed engineering and construction documents.
- Coordinate project activities across internal design teams and external stakeholders.
- Communicate project requirements, technical information, schedules, and deliverables effectively with clients, engineers, permitting agencies, and other stakeholders.
Civil Design and Technical Documentation
- Prepare and oversee engineering calculations, technical reports, spreadsheets, specifications, and supporting project documentation.
- Support site planning, permitting, code research, and site plan approvals through applicable jurisdictions.
- Perform and/or oversee construction cost estimating.
- Support stormwater modeling and design activities.
Client, Stakeholder, and Business Development Support
- Support business development efforts.
- Maintain relationships with clients, engineering partners, permitting agencies, jurisdictions, and other stakeholders.
- Attend and present at public meetings as required.
- Support collaborative coordination across project teams and external partners.
Qualifications
Education
Experience
- 10+ years of experience directly related to the design and execution of municipal and land development projects. [Required]
- Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring engineering and design teams. [Required]
- Experience with site planning, permitting, code research, and jurisdictional approvals.
- Experience preparing and overseeing technical engineering documentation and construction cost estimates.
Skills
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, and Microsoft Office. [Required]
- Experience with ICPR4 for stormwater modeling and design. [Required]
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. [Required]
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment. [Required]
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, engineers, permitting agencies, jurisdictions, and other stakeholders. [Required]
- Ability to attend and speak at public meetings. [Required]
