Position Overview

Amatriot and Dewberry are seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Project Manager to support the Daphne, Alabama office. This role manages municipal and land development engineering projects while providing leadership to project design teams and supporting business development, client management, permitting, and stakeholder coordination activities.

The Civil Engineering Project Manager is responsible for guiding projects from planning through design and execution, overseeing technical deliverables, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring project requirements, schedules, and approvals are effectively managed.


Key Responsibilities

Project Management and Technical Leadership

  • Lead and mentor project design teams throughout the design and execution of municipal and land development projects.
  • Manage design teams in the development of detailed engineering and construction documents.
  • Coordinate project activities across internal design teams and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate project requirements, technical information, schedules, and deliverables effectively with clients and project stakeholders.

Civil Design and Technical Documentation

  • Prepare and oversee engineering calculations, technical reports, spreadsheets, specifications, and supporting project documentation.
  • Support site planning, permitting, code research, and site plan approvals across applicable jurisdictions.
  • Perform and/or oversee construction cost estimating.
  • Support civil design activities associated with municipal and land development projects.

Client, Stakeholder, and Business Development Support

  • Support business development efforts.
  • Maintain relationships with clients, engineering partners, permitting agencies, jurisdictions, and other stakeholders.
  • Attend and present at public meetings as required.
  • Coordinate with clients and external stakeholders to support project delivery and approvals.

Qualifications

Education

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering. [Required]

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience directly related to the design and execution of municipal and land development projects. [Required]
  • Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring engineering and design teams. [Required]
  • Experience with site planning, permitting, code research, and jurisdictional approvals.
  • Experience preparing and overseeing technical engineering documentation and construction cost estimates.

Skills

  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, and Microsoft Office. [Required]
  • Experience with ICPR4 for stormwater modeling and design. [Required]
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. [Required]
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, engineers, permitting agencies, jurisdictions, and other stakeholders. [Required]
  • Ability to attend and speak at public meetings. [Required]

Licensure

  • Professional Engineer licensure in Alabama and Florida for the Daphne position. [Required]
