This Civil Engineer role is aligned with our Southeast geography, specifically Gainesville, Florida. We'll expect you to

  • Work closely with Project Managers and senior engineers to support the development of quality design drawings and construction documents.
  • Assist with engineering work related to water, wastewater, pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, and other municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Support transportation, environmental, and other business groups as project needs arise.
  • Assist with the preparation of engineering reports, technical memoranda, plans, and specifications.
  • Develop engineering markups and coordinate with CAD technicians to incorporate design updates.
  • Review survey data, basemaps, and other project information to support project development.
  • Contribute to project deliverables while maintaining company and client standards for quality.
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Assist with civil design efforts including grading, drainage, utilities, erosion control, and site development.
  • Perform calculations and quantity takeoffs under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support project execution.
  • Participate in quality reviews of project deliverables.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Support proposal efforts, business development activities, and client presentations as needed.
  • Participate in professional development activities and industry organizations.

Here's what you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification required or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • 2+ years of civil engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering principles and design practices.
  • Experience or interest in water, wastewater, pump stations, distribution systems, storage facilities, or related infrastructure projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk or Bentley design platforms.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads, or similar software is a plus.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn from experienced engineers and continue professional growth toward PE licensure.
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering is a plus but not required.

The base salary range for this position is $67,000.00 to $88,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
