The Opportunity
We are looking for a Civil Engineer with five or more years of experience. The ideal candidate is a dependable, well-organized, and versatile individual who has experience in civil engineering design and strong project management skills. They are organized, have solid communication skills, can work independently with minimal supervision, are team-oriented, personable, and possess a strong desire to make a positive contribution to the business. Candidates must possess a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil Engineering. This is an onsite position based in our San Diego office.
Responsibilities:
Design civil and water/wastewater projects for municipal clients
Assist in the preparation of proposals and fee estimates
Develop work plans and schedules
Assist in the management of projects to ensure they are on schedule, within budget and meet the requirements of our clients
Perform studies, calculations, designs, and preparation of plans and reports in accordance with project requirements and engineering standards
Build and maintain positive client relationships
Perform other responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's degree preferred
Professional Engineering (PE) license in Civil Engineering required
Minimum of five years of practical work experience
Experience with civil engineering as the engineer of record or principal in charge on projects submitted to public agencies
Write, review, and critique proposals, plans, designs, or fee estimates related to civil disciplines
Provide technical direction or supervision to engineering professionals, engineering, or computer-aided design (CAD) technicians, or other professional and technical personnel
Assist in the management of projects to ensure they are on schedule, within budget and meet the requirements of our clients
Excellent customer service skills including an ability to interact professionally and knowledgeably with clients
Solid experience with the MS Office Suite
