Civil Engineer

About the Opportunity

We"re working with a growing civil engineering firm in the Baltimore area that"s looking to add a Civil Engineer to their team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a variety of public-sector projects, including site development, water resources, infrastructure improvements, school expansions, and recreational facilities. The position provides exposure to the full project lifecycle, from design and permitting through construction support, while working across multiple local jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop site civil designs utilizing Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and related engineering software.
  • Prepare grading, drainage, utility, and stormwater management plans for a variety of projects.
  • Perform engineering calculations and technical analyses to support project design.
  • Assist in preparing construction documents, specifications, and detailed plan sets.
  • Conduct research and compile technical reports, findings, and recommendations.
  • Support the preparation of engineering opinions of probable cost and construction estimates.
  • Participate in site visits, field observations, inspections, and data collection efforts.
  • engineers, clients, and regulatory agencies throughout project development.
  • Assist with permitting and development approval processes in accordance with local jurisdictional requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor"s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience in civil site or land development design.
  • Proficiency with Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
  • Experience or exposure to stormwater management, drainage design, and utility infrastructure.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work within a collaborative project team.
  • Interest in advancing technical expertise within land development, water resources, and infrastructure projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on public-sector projects.
  • Exposure to water resources engineering, transportation, or infrastructure design.
  • Familiarity working with municipal permitting and development review processes.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred but not required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $55.00/hr.
