Civil Engineer Contract-to-Hire

Location: Omaha, NE

Our client is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Omaha, Nebraska. This role is ideal for a senior-level civil engineering professional with strong site development expertise, advanced Civil 3D capabilities, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary site civil efforts in a fast-paced project environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support site development, site master planning, and site selection activities
• Perform underground utility routing and site space planning
• Conduct hydrology analysis and design storm drainage systems
• Analyze and design gravity wastewater collection systems
• Develop final grading plans including cut/fill analysis and earthwork balancing
• Prepare erosion and sediment control plans and stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP)
• Support permitting efforts and coordinate with local agencies and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ)
• Perform stormwater analysis and modeling using software such as StormCAD and CivilStorm
• Collaborate remotely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support project execution
• Lead site civil engineering tasks while managing multiple priorities and deadlines

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• 15+ years of civil engineering experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Advanced proficiency with Civil 3D required
• Strong experience with site development and utility design
• Experience leading site civil teams on complex engineering projects
• Data Center project experience preferred, but not required
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with aggressive project schedules

Preferred Skills

• Experience coordinating with permitting agencies and AHJs
• Knowledge of stormwater management and hydrologic modeling software
• Strong understanding of grading, drainage, and utility coordination
• Ability to work independently while supporting distributed project teams
