Civil Engineer - Municipal

Candidates will work directly with the City Engineer and City Staff to successfully implement a variety of Municipal Projects including roadway, drainage and utility projects. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with project teams as well as clients, including representing clients during public meetings and events.

 

Impact Recruitment is looking for two Civil Engineers with strong municipal experience to join a growing team of technical and business professionals.

Candidates will work directly with the City Engineer and City Staff to successfully implement a variety of Municipal Projects including roadway, drainage and utility projects. Candidates will be responsible for Project Management, mentoring and development of project team members, and for supporting and managing implementation of municipal projects. This position will coordinate, and lead project teams focused on engineering and construction related services for clients primarily located in Minnesota.
Your Key Responsibilities
Essential Duty #1 includes:

• Manage project delivery and direct supervision over professional and technical staff.
• Execute internal, client, contractor and public communications.
• Coordinate multiple projects in developing plan sets, specifications, budgets, schedules to meet or exceed our clients’ expectations.
• Collaboration with other company internal groups and disciplines and sub-consultants.

Essential Duty #2 includes:

• Training and mentorship of junior professional and technical staff through all aspects of municipal engineering.

Essential Duty #3 includes:

• Helping prepare, draft and edit feasibility studies, technical memorandums, project specifications and project/community communications for projects.
• Assisting with proposals, project budgeting, project planning, and public engagement.

  Your Capabilities and Credentials
Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Minnesota Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain in six months

Experience:

• 8-15 years of progressive civil engineering design experience with an emphasis in municipal services.
• Experience in working regulatory agencies and government jurisdictions.
• Proven knowledge and skills of AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with project teams as well as clients, including representing clients during public meetings and events.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
