This role focuses on delivering complex roadway and Transportation Civil infrastructure projects, supporting project managers, and mentoring engineering staff. The ideal candidate has expertise in complete streets design, multimodal transportation, transit facilities, and agency coordination.ResponsibilitiesLead technical design efforts for multimodal corridors, complete streets, bike and pedestrian facilities, and transit-oriented improvements. Alternatively, take a lead role in the design of transit centers, ferries, ports, and airport landside improvementsWork closely with project managers to ensure projects stay on schedule, within budget, and meet agency requirementsMentor and develop engineering staff, providing guidance on roadway design, active transportation, and stormwater integrationEnsure compliance with Caltrans, FHWA, CPUC, UPRR, and local agency design standardsPerform quality control reviews to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory complianceCoordinate with environmental teams, right-of-way specialists, and permitting agencies to navigate complex project requirementsTravel to various project sites and offices as neededRequirements7+ years of experience in transportation planning, utility infrastructure, drainage, and design of roadways, railways, trails, and/or similar projectsB.S in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET Accredited Curriculum or equivalent requiredProfessional Engineer (PE) license in the state of California highly preferred. Out-of-state PE will be consideredStrong experience in complete streets, multimodal design, and roadway or transit infrastructure projectsProficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D (or similar design software)Physical DemandsMust be able to regularly talk, hear and operate a computer, keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift, pull/push and carry up to 20 pounds with accommodations.Work ConditionsExposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting. Exposure to high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
