We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer with 3+ years of experience in civil/site development and land development projects. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing civil engineering designs and construction documents for commercial, residential, multifamily, industrial, institutional, or other development projects.


The Civil Engineer will work closely with project managers, architects, surveyors, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to develop projects from initial planning and design through construction.


Responsibilities

• Design and develop civil engineering plans for land development and site development projects.
• Prepare grading, drainage, utility, erosion control, and site layout plans.
• Perform stormwater management, hydrologic, hydraulic, and other civil engineering calculations.
• Prepare construction documents, technical specifications, and engineering reports.
• Develop site plans and construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Coordinate civil designs with architects, surveyors, structural engineers, MEP engineers, and other project disciplines.
• Review project plans, specifications, and technical documents for accuracy and constructability.
• Assist with permitting and coordination with municipalities, agencies, and utility providers.
• Respond to contractor RFIs, review submittals, and provide construction administration support.
• Conduct site visits and field observations as needed.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable local, state, and federal regulations and development standards.
• Assist project managers with project schedules, budgets, and client coordination.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 3+ years of civil engineering/design experience, preferably in land development or site development.
• Experience with commercial, residential, multifamily, industrial, institutional, or similar development projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Working knowledge of grading, drainage, stormwater, utilities, and site development principles.
• Familiarity with applicable civil engineering codes, regulations, and permitting requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, architects, surveyors, and other engineering disciplines.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• EIT certification or PE license is preferred but not required.

Preferred Experience

• Land development or site development consulting experience.
• Experience with Civil 3D grading, profiles, surfaces, pipe networks, and plan production.
• Experience with stormwater management and drainage design.
• Experience preparing plans for municipal and regulatory approval.
• Experience working with local jurisdictions in the Dallas–Fort Worth area.
• Progress toward an EIT or PE license.
• Experience with commercial, multifamily, residential, industrial, or mixed-use developments.
