BlueWave is hiring a Civil Engineer Construction & Facilities for an advanced manufacturing client based in Austin, Texas. As Civil Engineer Construction & Facilities, you will independently manage civil engineering projects supporting a large industrial site. You will guide projects through planning, design, bidding, and construction while producing technical deliverables and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple civil engineering projects with changing requirements and timelines
- Support projects through planning, design, bidding, and construction
- Define project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements
- Develop construction drawings, specifications, technical narratives, and engineering calculations
- Support land development, site design, roadway, and transportation projects
- Design grading, pavement, sewer, storm drainage, water, and wastewater infrastructure
- Develop stormwater, erosion and sediment control, and traffic plans
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors, engineers, and architects
- Review technical drawings and proposals submitted by external partners
- Drive coordination across engineering and construction disciplines
- Communicate project requirements, changes, risks, and status to stakeholders
- Uphold engineering and design standards and escalate issues when appropriate
- Develop practical alternatives and innovative solutions as project requirements evolve
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent relevant experience
- Three to five years of hands-on civil engineering experience supporting industrial infrastructure or operational facilities
- Civil engineering design and site development experience
- Experience with roadway, grading, and pavement design
- Experience with sewer, storm drainage, water, and wastewater infrastructure
- Experience developing stormwater management and pollution-prevention plans
- Knowledge of erosion and sediment control requirements
- Heavy civil and traffic-planning experience
- Ability to independently produce construction drawings, specifications, narratives, and calculations
- Experience reviewing work submitted by vendors, engineers, and architects
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to engage executive-level stakeholders
- Strong independent problem-solving and design-alternative development skills
- Experience in advanced manufacturing or similar industrial environments preferred
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire with an initial 6-month contract period; onsite in Austin, Texas
Pay Range: $50$55 per hour
Schedule: Day shift; specific working hours to be confirmed
