Civil Designer / Civil 3D Designer

We are seeking a Civil Designer or Civil 3D Designer to support industrial engineering and design projects in Houston, TX.

The ideal candidate will have experience with grading, drainage, site layouts, and three-dimensional modeling using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Candidates with a piping design background using CADWorx or AVEVA E3D will also be considered, particularly if they have experience interpreting engineering drawings and modeling piping systems at specified slopes and elevations.

This position is well suited for an early-career to mid-level designer who is technically capable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and modify civil design drawings and 3D models for industrial facilities.

• Assist with site grading, drainage, and underground utility layouts.

• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop and revise grading and drainage models.

• Interpret engineering plans, drawings, elevations, and design specifications.

• Model piping and underground utility systems at appropriate slopes and elevations.

• Coordinate with Civil, Piping, Structural, and other engineering disciplines.

• Review drawings and models for accuracy, consistency, and potential interferences.

• Incorporate engineering markups and design revisions.

• Prepare drawings and design deliverables in accordance with project standards.

• Support senior engineers and designers throughout project development.

Required Qualifications

• 2–6 years of relevant civil design, piping design, or industrial CAD experience preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, drawings, and elevation information.

• Demonstrated ability to accurately model piping or utility systems on a slope.

• Working experience with at least one relevant 3D design platform, such as Civil 3D, CADWorx, or AVEVA E3D.

• Understanding of grading, drainage, underground utilities, or piping layout concepts.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

• Ability to follow design standards and incorporate engineering revisions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D for grading and drainage design.

• Experience with CADWorx or AVEVA E3D for piping and utility modeling.

• Previous experience supporting industrial, oil and gas, chemical, or EPC projects.

• Familiarity with underground piping, drainage systems, and site development.

• Associate degree in Drafting, CAD Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a practical, hands-on designer who can accurately interpret drawings, understand elevations and slopes, and produce reliable 3D models.

Candidates do not need to be senior-level engineers. We are particularly interested in individuals who have strong CAD skills, can work independently on assigned design tasks, and are comfortable supporting civil or piping-related deliverables.
