We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Design Engineer (EIT) to join a dynamic civil engineering team in Bossier City, Louisiana. This position is ideal for a civil engineer with approximately 2–3 years of practical design experience who is ready to take on increasing responsibility beyond entry-level training.
The Civil Design Engineer will contribute to land development, municipal infrastructure, commercial, industrial, institutional, and public works projects with moderate supervision. The role focuses heavily on site grading, stormwater design, hydrology and hydraulics, storm sewer systems, detention ponds, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to strengthen technical judgment, gain hands-on project experience, and build the qualifying experience needed to progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for commercial, residential, roadway, industrial, and public infrastructure projects.
Design storm sewer systems, channels, culverts, inlets, outfalls, detention ponds, and related stormwater facilities.
Develop site-grading concepts and detailed grading plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Prepare construction plans, site plans, utility plans, and erosion and sediment control plans.
Coordinate with project managers, surveyors, architects, structural/MEP engineers, clients, and regulatory agencies.
Support permitting activities and construction-phase services, including site visits and responses to Requests for Information (RFIs).
Assist with project schedules, deliverables, technical documentation, calculations, and design records.
Work closely with senior engineers to apply drainage calculations, engineering principles, and applicable design standards.
Review plans and calculations for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.
Contribute to multiple civil engineering and land development projects while meeting established deadlines.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
Engineer in Training (EIT/EI) certification required, or ability to obtain Louisiana EI certification promptly.
Approximately 2–3 years of civil engineering design experience.
Hands-on experience with hydrology/hydraulics, storm sewer design, detention pond design, and site grading strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret engineering plans, calculations, specifications, and design standards.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, project managers, surveyors, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to work effectively in an in-person engineering environment.
Preferred / Additional Experience
Residential subdivision design.
Roadway plan-and-profile design.
HEC-RAS and/or HEC-HMS modeling.
FEMA and floodplain coordination.
Experience with LADOTD or TxDOT standards and requirements.
Familiarity with municipalities in Northwest Louisiana or East Texas.
Construction-phase engineering support and field experience.
