Job Description

Prepare conceptual, budgetary, and hard-bid estimates for civil, concrete, and commercial construction projects.

Review plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and contract documents to determine project scope and costs.

Perform quantity takeoffs for earthwork, foundations, site utilities, concrete structures, paving, and related scopes.

Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.

Develop detailed bid proposals, scopes of work, and bid packages.

Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.

Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs as required.

Coordinate closely with operations teams to ensure smooth project handoff upon award.

Analyze project risks and develop appropriate pricing strategies.

Maintain current knowledge of labor rates, material costs, equipment pricing, and market trends.

Assist with project budgeting, change order pricing, and cost analysis throughout the project lifecycle.

Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, clients, and industry partners.

The Successful Applicant

5+ years of estimating experience in construction, civil, sitework, excavation, and/or concrete projects.

Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and means and methods associated with civil and concrete work.

Experience performing quantity takeoffs and preparing detailed estimates.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout the Central Pennsylvania region.
