Position Summary
We are looking for an energetic, team-focused Food Runner to help deliver an outstanding dining experience. Food Runners connect the kitchen and the dining room. You will carry orders to guests quickly and accurately, make sure every plate looks right, and support servers and the kitchen team during busy shifts. This role suits someone who likes to stay on the move, pays close attention to detail, and enjoys making guests happy. It is a great entry point into hospitality, with room to grow into serving or other front-of-house roles.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver food from the kitchen to guests promptly, accurately, and at the correct temperature
- Check each plate for presentation, portion, and accuracy against the ticket before it leaves the kitchen
- Know the menu well enough to describe dishes and answer basic guest questions
- Communicate allergy and special-request information clearly between servers and the kitchen
- Place plates correctly using seat numbers so guests are not asked who ordered what
- Help servers with table maintenance: clearing plates, refilling water, and bringing condiments or utensils
- Help reset and set tables to keep turnover smooth
- Keep the expo line, service stations, and side stations clean, organized, and stocked
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health code standards
- Help with opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned
- Work as part of the team and support other roles when needed during peak times
Qualifications
Required
- Able to stand and walk for long periods and lift and carry up to 25 lbs
- Able to carry several plates or a full tray safely
- Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication skills and a positive, guest-first attitude
- Able to work quickly and stay calm in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Previous experience as a food runner, busser, server, or in another restaurant role
- Food Handler certification, or willingness to get one after hire
- Basic knowledge of food allergies and safe food handling
