    The Opportunity

    Our client is seeking an accomplished Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to join the executive leadership team of a large, integrated healthcare organization experiencing continued growth and transformation. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the CHRO will serve as the organization's senior human resources executive, responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive people strategy that aligns with enterprise business objectives.


    This executive will provide both strategic leadership and operational oversight across the full spectrum of Human Resources while serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, physician leaders, operational executives, and the Board. The successful candidate will strengthen organizational culture, modernize HR operations, enhance leadership capability, improve workforce engagement, and position the organization to meet future workforce demands.


    This role requires an executive who combines strategic vision with operational discipline and has demonstrated success leading complex, multi-site organizations through growth, integration, organizational change, and workforce transformation.

    The CHRO will lead a high-performing HR organization while ensuring Human Resources serves as a strategic business partner that enables organizational performance, operational excellence, and an exceptional employee experience.


    Key Responsibilities

    The successful executive will:

    • Develop and execute an enterprise-wide Human Resources strategy aligned with organizational priorities.
    • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on workforce strategy, organizational effectiveness, succession planning, leadership capability, culture, and employee engagement.
    • Lead the continued evolution of Human Resources into a proactive, service-oriented, data-driven function.
    • Drive talent acquisition strategies to improve recruiting effectiveness and workforce stability across a geographically dispersed healthcare system.
    • Design and implement enterprise leadership development, succession planning, and talent management programs.
    • Oversee compensation and benefits strategies that support attraction, retention, internal equity, and fiscal responsibility.
    • Strengthen employee engagement through culture initiatives, leadership coaching, communication strategies, and organizational development programs.
    • Lead employee and labor relations initiatives, including maintaining productive relationships within unionized environments and supporting collective bargaining activities where applicable.
    • Modernize HR systems, technology, analytics, and reporting capabilities to improve operational efficiency and decision-making.
    • Partner with operational leaders during organizational growth, acquisitions, integrations, and system-wide change initiatives.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws, regulations, and healthcare workforce requirements.
    • Foster a culture centered on accountability, collaboration, service excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.


    Early Priorities

    During the first 12-18 months, the CHRO will be expected to:

    • Build trusted relationships with executive leadership, physicians, managers, and employees throughout the organization.
    • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of Human Resources operations, structure, service delivery, and organizational effectiveness.
    • Develop a multi-year Human Resources strategic roadmap aligned with business priorities.
    • Enhance employee engagement and strengthen organizational culture across multiple locations.
    • Improve recruiting effectiveness, onboarding, workforce planning, and retention strategies.
    • Expand leadership development and succession planning initiatives.
    • Continue integrating HR systems, policies, and practices across a growing healthcare enterprise.
    • Improve operational consistency while maintaining flexibility for local business needs.
    • Strengthen labor relations strategies and proactively address workforce challenges.
    • Advance HR technology, analytics, and reporting capabilities to support enterprise decision-making.
