We are currently seeking Chinese-Mandarin Operational Language Analysts (OLA III) to support critical intelligence missions at Fort Meade, Maryland. This senior-level position is designed for highly experienced cryptologic linguists with advanced Mandarin language proficiency who possess extensive experience in language exploitation, intelligence reporting, quality control, and mentoring.
Essential Job Functions:
The Chinese-Mandarin Operational Language Analyst (OLA III) provides advanced cryptologic language processing, quality assurance, and analytical support to national security missions. The analyst performs complex language exploitation, develops intelligence reporting, mentors junior linguists, and ensures the highest standards of translation quality and mission execution.
Perform advanced cryptologic language processing of Mandarin Chinese audio and graphic materials in support of intelligence operations.
Exploit foreign language communications to identify Essential Elements of Information (EEIs) and intelligence of operational value.
Produce accurate translations, transcriptions, gists, and intelligence reports in accordance with Government standards.
Perform quality control (QC) reviews of translated and transcribed materials to ensure linguistic accuracy, consistency, and mission readiness.
Mentor and train junior Operational Language Analysts on translation techniques, intelligence reporting, quality standards, and mission procedures.
Draft, review, and edit intelligence reports derived from foreign language source materials.
Conduct linguistic and cultural research to support operational requirements.
Develop and maintain working aids, glossaries, databases, and reference materials to improve mission effectiveness.
Support target development, network analysis, speaker and language identification, and intelligence reporting activities.
Collaborate with intelligence analysts and mission partners to support operational planning and intelligence production.
Ensure compliance with security protocols, classification guidance, and Government quality standards.
Support additional operational language and intelligence tasks as assigned.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance with a Counterintelligence (CI) or Full Scope (FS) Polygraph.
Minimum Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) Level 3 proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (Audio or Graphic).
Bachelor's degree and 10 years of full-time qualifying experience, or14 years of full-time qualifying experience in lieu of a degree.
Minimum 10 years of experience in cryptologic language processing, related language disciplines, and/or cryptologic intelligence operations.

6 of the required 10 years performing advanced cryptologic language processing equivalent to OLA II duties, including:
6 of the required 10 years must have been performed in the required target language (Mandarin Chinese).
4 of the required 6 years must include hands-on cryptologic language processing.
3 of the required 6 years must have consisted primarily of translation, transcription, and gisting.
Minimum 1 year of quality control (QC) experience reviewing work at ILR Level 3 in Mandarin Chinese.
No more than 3 of the required 10 years may have consisted primarily of intelligence reporting duties.
At least 1 year of qualifying Mandarin Chinese experience must have been obtained within the 6 years immediately preceding resume submission.
Advanced proficiency in Mandarin Chinese language exploitation and cryptologic language processing.
Extensive experience producing high-quality translations, transcriptions, gists, and intelligence reports.
Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to independently perform complex analytical tasks with minimal supervision.
Experience mentoring, coaching, and conducting quality assurance reviews for other linguists.
Ability to maintain accuracy while working under operational deadlines in classified environments.
Desired Skills:
Experience supporting the National Security Agency (NSA), Department of Defense (DoD), or Intelligence Community (IC).
Experience leading language teams, mentoring junior linguists, and conducting quality assurance reviews.
Experience supporting target development, network analysis, and operational intelligence missions.
Strong understanding of cryptologic language processing methodologies and Intelligence Community reporting standards.
Experience working in high-tempo operational environments supporting national security missions.
