This position involves diagnosing system issues, performing repairs, conducting preventative maintenance, and ensuring customer equipment operates efficiently and reliably. Success in this role requires advanced troubleshooting abilities, sound decision-making skills, and professional customer interaction.Primary ResponsibilitiesInspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial HVAC equipment, including:Air-cooled chiller systemsWater-cooled chiller systemsCooling towers and associated componentsBoiler systemsPumping equipmentAir handlers and ventilation systemsSplit-system equipment and rooftop package unitsAssess equipment performance and recommend repair or replacement options when appropriateResearch OEM-approved replacement parts and service proceduresProvide customers with clear explanations of system conditions, repair recommendations, and available solutionsParticipate in the company's on-call emergency response rotationMaintain company-issued vehicles, tools, and inventory in a clean and organized conditionComplete detailed electronic service documentation, including:Labor and time reportingService diagnostics and repair notesEquipment information and historyCustomer authorizations and approvalsCoordinate regularly with dispatch personnel, service support staff, and management teamsUtilize company software, tablets, and mobile technology for work order management, documentation, and reportingReporting StructureDirect Supervisor: Service ManagerMinimum Qualifications3 to 5 years of commercial chiller service experience with verifiable professional referencesStrong understanding of commercial and industrial HVAC equipment, controls, and diagnostic processesAbility to evaluate equipment life expectancy and determine cost-effective repair versus replacement solutionsExcellent customer relations and communication skillsSelf-motivated with the ability to lead and make decisions in the field when necessaryUniversal EPA Certification is requiredAbility to travel to customer job sites as assignedMaintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while representing the companyDemonstrated ability to work independently and manage service assignments with minimal supervisionStrong written communication skills with the ability to produce accurate service documentation
