    Description

    Hunton Services, a division of the Hunton Group, is seeking an experienced Chiller Specialist - Level 4 to support the team in Childress, Texas. This position serves as the primary technical subject-matter expert and escalation resource for chiller systems that are critical to continuous data center operations. The selected candidate will perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, startup, commissioning support, system optimization, and root-cause analysis while providing technical direction to the onsite HVAC team. This role requires extensive heavy-commercial chiller experience, sound judgment in mission-critical environments, and disciplined documentation and communication.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Serve as the onsite technical subject-matter expert and escalation point for complex chiller and central-plant equipment issues.
    • Perform advanced diagnostics, service, repair, startup, and operational support for centrifugal, rotary/screw, and reciprocating chillers.
    • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, oil-management, heat-transfer, flow, controls-interface, and system-performance conditions.
    • Analyze equipment readings, alarms, trends, logs, drawings, sequences, service histories, and manufacturer data to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
    • Monitor chiller and cooling-system performance and recommend corrective, preventive, and optimization measures that support reliability, efficiency, and uptime.
    • Lead or support root-cause analyses for equipment failures, recurring alarms, performance degradation, and operational events; document findings and recommended actions.
    • Develop, review, and improve preventive and predictive maintenance tasks, inspection standards, operating procedures, and equipment-specific service plans.
    • Lead or support major repairs, overhauls, retrofits, equipment startup, commissioning, functional testing, and vendor- or OEM-supported service activities.
    • Verify equipment operation and system stability before returning equipment to service, following approved site change-management and operating procedures.
    • Provide technical guidance, field coaching, and troubleshooting support to HVAC Technicians Levels 1-3.
    • Assist site leadership with repair planning, scope development, parts identification, critical-spares recommendations, vendor coordination, and equipment risk assessment.
    • Coordinate work with site operations, BAS/controls personnel, electrical teams, contractors, vendors, and manufacturers to minimize operational disruption.
    • Maintain accurate service records, condition assessments, equipment histories, work-order notes, readings, parts usage, and root-cause documentation in the designated maintenance system.
    • Communicate equipment status, operational risk, temporary measures, and recommended next steps clearly to site and Hunton Services leadership.
    • Follow all site access, safety, environmental, refrigerant-management, lockout/tagout, change-management, and customer-specific procedures.
    • Participate in shift coverage, after-hours response, overtime, weekends, and emergency support as required by continuous site operations.
