SUMMARY:

The Sales Assistant will support the Children's Sales team and will serve as assistant to the EVP, Group Sales Director. This person will coordinate sales activities and materials; arrange travel; coordinate and prepare materials for onsite, domestic and international meetings; compile and analyze sales reports, and assist in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the Sales Department. This is a NYC-based opportunity, with a hybrid office working schedule (three in-office days a week.)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage calendars, domestic and international travel arrangements and expense reports for the EVP, Group Sales Director.
  • Manage meetings including reserving conference rooms, setting up teleconferencing and conference calls
  • Create and run daily and weekly sales reports; analyze data and highlight trends, etc; track sales orders
  • Support National Account Managers in preparing for sales calls and previews, including creating and maintaining item set-up grids, preparing PowerPoint presentations, updating account portals, and creating samples
  • Prepare National Account Managers for weekly/monthly meetings by running reports and conducting analysis using Excel
  • Assist with sales related projects and initiatives as assigned
  • Facilitate efficient operations of the Sales Department; liaise with in-house departments as necessary

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Must possess a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel (V Look up), PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and customer service skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and take initiative in a busy environment with changing priorities
  • Must be highly organized, able to prioritize and maintain confidential information, detail-oriented and able to juggle multiple tasks in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Interest in sales and the publishing field
  • Prior office experience a plus

The compensation for this position is $50,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location - talk with your recruiter to learn more.
