Description

The Mary Campbell Center is first, last, and always, home to 68 residents. Together, staff ensure services are delivered with a high degree of quality, in a homelike environment where residents live with respect, personal dignity, and independence to the fullness of their abilities. The C&Y Program Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing and supervising The Center's C&Y program consisting of activities designed to promote learning, social interaction and independence for children of varying ages and developmental abilities. The C&Y Program Manager is also charged with promoting the MCC Children's program in a positive manner to the community, while adhering to the MCC Guiding Principles and Mission. The Program Manager must work reliably, effectively, efficiently, and with respect for residents, staff, families, volunteers, professional consultants, and the physical environment of the Center. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:The C&Y Program Manager at the Mary Campbell Center must 1) be a good person of high character who consistently works with a positive attitude and demonstrates compassion and understanding for program participants with varying degrees of disability; 2) a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, Early Intervention Programming, or a field of study concentrating on programming for children and youth with disabilities is preferred 3) have at least three years' experience with a focus on developing and implementing programs for children and youth with disabilities; 4) have ability to demonstrate creativity in developing programs; 5) have supervisory experience and be capable of effectively supervising and training staff and volunteers; 6) possess excellent organizational skills and verbal/ written communication skills; 7) have the ability to interact on a positive basis with children and families; 8) demonstrate proficiency in utilizing technology tools to effectively manage program reporting and achieve department goals; 9) hold current CPR and first aid certifications 10) have the ability to lift and transfer children up to adult weight and utilize safe lifting procedures and to assist with personal care including feeding and toileting; 11) must obtain lifeguard certification and Certified Pool Operator Certification within 6 months and maintain certifications 12) Hold a valid driver's license and a clean driving record 13) must obtain a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with passenger endorsement within 12 months of employment and maintain licensure. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  Plans, implements and provides oversight to Children and Youth program. Develops and leads activities designed to promote learning, social interaction and independence.Provides direction and supervision to departmental staff. Prepares staff work schedules based upon the needs of the program.Serves as Special Olympics Coach for seasonal events (when applicable).Partners with Director of External Affairs in developing marketing strategies that will provide for increased community awareness of the program.Develops a departmental budget; monitors all income and expenditures made from budgeted funds. Maintains billing log monthly.Make recommendations to purchasing equipment and/or supplies needed for the department.Utilize established behavior management techniques, where necessary, which are used in conjunction with Center policies and procedures.Assisting in the hiring of departmental staff. Provides orientation and training and oversight following MCC policies.Develop program schedules. Coordinates the use of program areas. (Pool, All Star Room, Snoezelen Room, etc.)Meets with parents and children to determine eligibility of admission into program. Completes tours as needed.Facilitates consistent and open communication with participants and families. Utilizes social media options. (Facebook)Compile and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual program data.Partners with the Director of External Affairs for grant applications intended for funding of programsDevelops and maintains an effective network of contacts with school districts, referral agencies for program promotionMake recommendations for C & Y Program Policies and Procedures updates. Ensures compliance with established Center policies.Meets regularly with the Assistant Executive Director regarding status of department and program.Transports participants in MCC vehicles as needed following established policies and procedures Ensures Children and Youth trip protocols are followed and completed in accordance with established Policy and Procedures.Supervises and orients community interns and volunteers.Participates in overall leadership of The Mary Campbell Center as part of the Senior Management Team; attends leadership training opportunities.Conducts in-services for staff that will facilitate a positive, learning environment.Complete all mandatory in-services and attend staff meetings as required.Performs other duties as assigned.
