PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Assist in implementing childcare programs and assuring that each child is well cared for and safe. Provide routine care for infants and children in an instructional setting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High School diploma or GED
Paraprofessional Certification
CPR/FA/AED preferred
Child Development Associates Credential (CDA) preferred
Meet the minimum requirements of a licensed daycare center classroom provider
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to read and verbally communicate with children, staff, and parents
Ability to work with groups of children in a positive manner
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Effective organizational and communication skills
Ability to relate to children and adults with courtesy, respect, acceptance, compassion, and patience
Experience:
Experience in a state licensed daycare center with 0-5 year old children required
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Instructional Support
Plan, prepare materials, and implement daily learning activities for children.
Conduct age-appropriate activities for children in care including but not limited to reading to
children and teaching simple painting, drawing, crafts, and songs.
Observe and monitor children's play activities.
Maintain a neat and orderly classroom including organizing and storing toys,
materials, and personal items belonging to children.

Mental Demands:
Work effectively with frequent interruptions; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; demonstrate appropriate reading skills; and maintain emotional control and self-control under stress.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Moderate standing and walking with occasional kneeling, squatting, bending, stooping, climbing, balancing, lifting, and moving materials. Regular light lifting and carrying required. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors with exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, and frequent exposure to bodily fluids.
School district employees may be required to work from home and use their personal electronic devices.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Full-time position. This position is contingent upon annual funding.
