About the role:

The Childcare Development Worker supports early years and childcare providers across Powys, helping maintain high-quality, sustainable provision. The role involves offering guidance on CIW standards, delivering training, promoting best practice, and working with multiple agencies. It requires strong knowledge of childcare legislation, excellent communication skills, and a passion for improving outcomes for children through effective support and development of local childcare services.

About you: -Strong knowledge of childcare legislation, especially CIW standards and safeguarding requirements

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with providers and multi agency partners

Passion for improving outcomes and opportunities for children and families

Ability to support, coach, and develop childcare professionals through training and guidance

Good organisational, IT, and problem-solving skills to manage varied work across locations

Motivation, initiative, and commitment to high-quality, sustainable childcare provision

What you will do:

Provide guidance and support to childcare providers to meet CIW regulations and quality standards

Support development and sustainability of new and existing childcare provision across Powys

Deliver or assist with training and professional development for early years practitioners

Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to improve childcare and

education outcomes

Offer advice on business development, funding, and marketing of childcare services

Promote high-quality practice, including modelling effective adult-child

interaction

Salary: Grade 6 Point 11 to Point 14 £28,142 to £29,540 per annum pro rata £14.58 to £15.31 per hour
