Position Title: Infant/Wobbler Teacher Status: Full-time or Part-time, hourly, overtime eligible

Organizational Relationships: Reports to Director or Maris Place

Position Purpose Work closely with the staff of the Nature-Based Childcare Center to support center activities. Oversee the Infant/Wobbler program, assist in developing curriculum, maintain client records, assist in evaluation of treatment plans, and participate in staffing.

Responsibilities and Duties performed personally or through subordinate employees or volunteers:

Oversee the Infant/Toddler program Be able to care for 4 children ages 6 weeks-2 ½ yrs old alone or with a Teacher Assistant when one is available. Develop curriculum and activities for the Infant/Wobbler program Assure that curriculum and activities are appropriate to the age, interests, needs, developmental level and emotional level of the center children. Maintain client Policy/Procedure records in a timely and professional manner. Take part in staffing of families enrolled in the program to assure that their needs are being adequately addressed. Help to develop, execute and evaluate individual education treatment plans with the Director. Propose local walking and short distance field trips to enhance learning and fun Follow all Center policies and Procedures Supervise Teacher Aides, volunteers and interns and provide feedback to the Director on interns and volunteers in the Infant/Wobbler program. Develop and maintain amicable, supportive, professional relationships with parents, children and other staff. Maintain a neat and organized classroom. Other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications: Must be 18 years or older, Oregon Central Background Registry Number, Food Handlers card, current CPR and First Aid training, and have the following online courses required by the Oregon Early Learning Division: Introduction to Child Care Health and Safety, Prevention is Better Than Treatment, Safe Sleep for Infants and Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect. Must also have 30 credits of training in Early Childhood Education, HDFS or Child Development. 15 credits of training in Early Childhood Education, HDFS or Child Development and six months qualifying teaching experience is also accepted.

Commitment to the goals of our social service agency and a willingness to be an advocate for our mission and our clients Ability to interact positively and, non-judgmentally with parents and children Ability to interact gently and supportively with center children Must meet physical ability of maneuvering 25 lbs, kneeling, bending and sitting on the floor to attend to a childs needs. Ability to function as a member of the Child Care Center team
