Primary Function: To participate in activities with children which are designed to enhance their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth. This position will work with infants and toddlers.

Qualifications - Education & Experience

• High school diploma required; Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred.
• Experience or desire to work with infants and toddlers, ages 0-2.
• Ability to interact in a warm, calm, and responsive manner with students, parents, and staff.
• Knowledge of infant and toddler development, including attachment, routines, and early learning.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Support lead teachers to provide developmentally appropriate care and learning experiences for infants and toddlers.
• Ensure a safe, healthy, and well-supervised environment at all times.
• Follow childcare licensing and health & safety guidelines (including safe sleep, feeding, and diapering procedures).
• Build secure, trusting relationships with each child through consistent, responsive, and nurturing interactions.
• Greet parents, offering positive feedback about children when appropriate.
• Maintain regular and predictable in-person attendance.
• Support the OCS vision and mission.
• Other duties as assigned.

Starting Hourly Pay Rate: $17.61 - $19.87 per hour based on education and the 2026-27 OELC Salary Schedule
