The Childcare Assistant for preschool programming will help the childcare lead teacher to provide safe, dependable, and high-quality care for the children enrolled in the wrap-around preschool program care.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the childcare lead teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate activities for three and four-year-old children.
• Prepare materials to support program activities.
• Ability to perform set-up and maintenance of a warm, inviting environment.
• Exhibit enthusiasm and initiative.
• Maintain positive communication with coworkers and parents.
• Perform health related functions as required by state licensing.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have experience and a desire to work with children.
• Knowledge of early childhood development is preferred.
• Complete 16 hours of annual training, in addition to CPR, first aid, and bloodborne pathogen training.
• Must be cooperative, dependable, positive, and enthusiastic.

Schedule:

14 hours/week Monday through Friday (after school)

Compensation:

Level 1: $14.28 - $16.50 per hour
