Child Nutrition Manager Job Description
The Child Nutrition Manager is responsible for overseeing the management of the schools child nutrition program, ensuring that all meals and snacks served meet the nutritional standards set by the school and local health authorities.
The Child Nutrition Manager will be responsible for:
• Developing and implementing the schools child nutrition program, including menu planning, food procurement, and food preparation. • Managing the schools food budget and ensuring that all expenses are in line with the schools budgetary guidelines. • Supervising and training the schools food service staff, including cooks, servers, and cashiers. • Maintaining accurate records of food sales, inventory, and waste. • Ensuring that all food served meets the nutritional standards set by the school and local health authorities. • Collaborating with the school administration and other departments to ensure that the child nutrition program aligns with the schools overall goals and objectives.
The Child Nutrition Manager will also be responsible for:
• Developing and implementing policies and procedures for the child nutrition program, including food safety and handling procedures. • Conducting regular inspections of the schools food service facilities to ensure that they meet all health and safety standards. • Managing the schools food waste and recycling programs. • Collaborating with local food banks and other organizations to provide food assistance to students and families in need.
The Child Nutrition Manager will work closely with the school administration, teachers, and other staff to ensure that the child nutrition program is effective and efficient. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in child nutrition, food service management, and program development.
